My Approach & Story
My career has been varied and taken me down many paths - from working at the BBC and independent TV production companies to running a B&B and yurt business from home while bringing up my son. Each chapter has brought its own richness and perspective.
In 2017, my life took an unexpected turn following a challenging health diagnosis. It was a powerful reminder that life is too short not to follow what genuinely calls us. In 2018, I trained as a yoga teacher, and around that same time, I discovered Transactional Analysis (TA). What began as a journey for personal development soon became something much more. I found TA so transformative that I continued my training and went on to qualify as a counsellor.
Along the way, I volunteered at the Cancer Wellbeing Centre at Colchester Hospital, facilitating support groups for women with breast cancer - an experience that deepened my understanding of resilience, connection, and recovery.
Today, my training and lived experience allow me to support others in navigating life’s challenges, helping clients not just to cope with life, but to connect to their potency and fulfill their full potential.
I have a deep interest in people and what's truly going on for them, both internally and externally.
I am trained in Transactional Analysis and apply this modality to my work. Transactional Analysis Counselling focuses on the Adult Ego State, and I encourage clients to find and strengthen their Adult; their 'here and now' reality, and to address what is problematic for them. Through this process, I work collaboratively and co-creatively to understand what is impacting clients in the present, which may stem from past events or concerns about the future.
My intention is to empower clients to develop their autonomy and sense of self, to view themselves and their world differently and to facilitate positive change and transformation in their lives.
I am committed to a neuro-affirming approach that respects and embraces neurodiversity in all its forms. I create a safe, inclusive space where clients - whether neurotypical or neurodivergent - can explore their experiences without fear of judgement or pressure to conform to societal norms.
